Juan and I dreamed of starting our own business. We were lucky to be able to take the business planning and ownership courses at the Microbusiness Advancement Center. We felt so empowered when we realized our dream would become a reality. I belong to the world of business owners now! MAC welcomed me and now I know where to go for support. --Dionne, MAC participant
For years, I blamed myself for my husband’s abuse. I finally grabbed my kids and went to Casa Amparo at the Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse where I learned that it wasn’t my fault. They helped me get my life back together. I registered my kids in a new school, found a safe apartment and made a budget. All of this made me more confident, a better mother and a stronger person. --Ana, Emerge!client
