The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona supports special projects and initiatives to advance targeted community needs. The outcome is that we all have a greater impact and far wider reach than any one of us could achieve on our own.
CFSA projects and initiatives include coalitions representing a wide array of service providers, community residents, donors and other businesses.
Our Special Projects and Initiatives
Economic Relief and Stability Fund is an unrestricted fund, which allowed us to meet the most urgent needs in our community resulting from the 2008 economic downturn. The flexibility of these kinds of unrestricted funds enables us to respond to southern Arizona's most pressing needs.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Straight Alliance Fund is a coalition of individuals who work to address the chronic pattern of underfunding of LGBT programs. The Alliance Fund supports efforts to address these issues through philanthropy and endowment building.
Literacy for Life Coalition brings together funders, business leaders, local government, social service agencies, literacy providers, educators in the school systems, libraries and the media to address literacy issues in our community. It connects people with opportunities to learn, work places with resources to improve employee literacy skills, and neighborhoods with resources to improve the quality of life for their residents.
People, Resources and Organizations in Support of Neighborhoods provides small grants and technical assistance to local community and grassroots groups in Pima County. PRO Neighborhoods believes in building on strengths and funds projects that beautify neighborhoods, build assets, solve problems and create human connections.
Ryan White HIV/AIDS Consortia administers services under Part B of the Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act. The consortia takes an active role in addressing the needs of all people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Pima County and southern Arizona.
