Community Foundation Appoints New Board Leadership, Adds Five to Board of Trustees

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) announces new Board of Trustees officers and members.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for providing governance over the Foundation’s operations and accomplishment of its mission. Each board member serves a three-year term, with opportunities for term renewal.
Board Officers
Chair: Paul Lindsey. Lindsey has been a member of the CFSA Board of Trustees for three years, and is a long-time business and civic leader in the Tucson community. Lindsey is past-president of the board of Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA) and currently serves on the Boards of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross and Planned Parenthood, The UA College of Education Advisory Board, the Pima Community College Foundation Board and the Handi-Dog Supporting Foundation. Lindsey is semi-retired, but continues to own several small businesses in Tucson and Scottsdale.
First Vice Chair: Thomas Warne. Warne is a commercial real estate developer and investor, instrumental in the development of the UA Main Gate Square. He is also on the board of the Tucson Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Foundation.
Second Vice Chair: Megan Davis. Davis is founder and president of The Davis Consulting Group. She serves on the Board of Advisors for Bank of Tucson, Board of Directors of Tucson List, Finance Committee for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the DM 50.
Secretary: Carrie Brennan. Brennan is the founding principal of City High School. She received a 40-Under-40 Award in 2006 for her community leadership in the field of education.
Treasurer: Jerry Miron. Miron is the Chief Financial Officer at the Arizona Health Sciences Center for The UA and Chief Operating Officer for the clinical practice division, University Physicians Healthcare. He is a CPA with 30+ years of financial and administrative experience. He is active with a number of non-profit organizations.
New Board Members
New board member inductees include: Lawrence Hecker, Marian LaLonde, Don Luria, R. Michael Sullivan and Roger Vogel. Their addition to the Foundation’s Board brings the total to 23.
Lawrence M. Hecker. Lawrence M. Hecker is a principal in the firm of Hecker & Muehlebach, PLLC and practices corporate law. He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from The University of Arizona. Hecker is an adjunct professor at The UA College of Law teaching the Entrepreneurship Practicum.
Marian C. LaLonde. Marian C. LaLonde is an Associate in the Tucson office of DeConcini McDonald Yetwin and Lacy, P.C. LaLonde is an active participant in homeless youth and child advocacy efforts in the community and is Board President for Youth on their Own. She was honored as the Tucson Business Edge 40 Under 40 Woman of the Year in 2008. LaLonde earned her bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Political Science from The University of Arizona. She received her Juris Doctor from The University of Arizona in 2006.
Don Luria. Don Luria has lived in Tucson since 1981. Luria is the Founding President of the Tucson Originals and past chair of the Council of Independent Restaurants of America (CIRA). He is currently on the national Board of Museum Trustees Association and the Advisory Board of the Project for Arizona’s Future (PAF), and has been active in the Tucson nonprofit sector for many years. Luria has received numerous awards for his contributions to the arts and the community.
R. Michael Sullivan. Mike Sullivan is Managing Director, Tucson, and Arizona Senior Investment Manager for Harris Private Bank. Sullivan has 30 years of investment experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from The University of Arizona and a Chartered Financial Analyst ® (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Tucson Society of the CFA Institute, and is also on the Tucson Museum of Art Board of Trustees.
Roger Vogel. Roger Vogel is Chairman, President and CEO of SEBRA Medical Technologies since 2005. He was formerly with IBM for 20 years and was a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Vogel earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is on the Board of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, the Arizona Technology Council, the Research Park Development Corporation and Tucson Values Teachers.
The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona’s mission is to work with charitably minded individuals and organizations to strengthen Southern Arizona communities, now and for generations to come.
