The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona has a longstanding commitment to helping individuals achieve their academic goals. Working with our donors and a volunteer scholarship committee, we provide financial assistance to approximately 50 students a year to support their academic endeavors. Southern Arizona students graduating from public high schools are eligible to apply. Selection criteria includes:

Designated Scholarships
In addition to our general scholarships, donors can also establish scholarships to benefit students who meet specific sets of criteria. Final selection of our advised scholarships usually is handled by the university or college. Mary Jane McIntosh Atwood Scholarship benefits a high school graduate from McIntosh County Academy, Darien, GA. Fred Bustamante Memorial Scholarship benefits a student graduating from Amphitheater High School. Sheryll Erchinger Milo Memorial Scholarship benefits a graduate from University High School who is pursuing a degree in education.
Dorothy M. Freeman Fine Arts Scholarship alternates yearly between a junior or senior undergraduate working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a junior or senior undergraduate working toward a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Arizona. Roy A. Johnson Organ Scholarship benefits a graduate student enrolled at the University of Arizona who is pursuing the study of the organ. Mildred F. Mahoney Memorial Scholarship benefits a University of Arizona undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing a degree in the study of the organ. Pauline Miguel Scholarship benefits a high school graduate who is a descendant and/or member of the Tohono O’Odham Nation. James A. Pearson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded yearly to a student who has been actively involved in the MESA and/or APEX programs at the Flowing Wells High School and will be attending the University of Arizona. This is a four-year scholarship. Judge Mary Anne Richey Scholarship benefits first-year law students attending the University of Arizona and the Arizona State University. Scholarship for a Better Future is awarded yearly to a student who has been actively involved in the MESA and/or APEX programs at the Flowing Wells High School. This scholarship to attend the University of Arizona is for four years.
Theodor H. Troller Memorial Scholarship Fund provides assistance to graduate students in the Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona. Tucson Music Teacher’s Association Scholarships are awarded based on selection criteria that have been established by the association. Two scholarships are awarded yearly: the Tucson Music Teacher’s Association General Memorial Scholarship and the Tucson Music Teacher’s Association Winifred Knight Memorial Scholarship.
USAF 162nd Fighter Unit Scholarship The selection process for this scholarship is handled by the Arizona Air National Guard. The scholarship is known as the Louis E. Williams Scholarship. Fred and Helen Wolfe Scholarships comprise two scholarships awarded through the University of Arizona School of Music: one to a graduate student working toward a Master of Music degree with a major in musicology, and one to a student working toward a masters or doctoral degree with an emphasis on piano performance.
Lund Wolfe Computer Science Scholarship benefits a student at the junior or senior level in the Computer Science Department at the University of Arizona.
